I arrived in Puerta Vallarta on Thursday June 12 after checking out of La Cruz that morning with a brief stop at the legendary La Cruz Mercado de Pescado, the open air fish market to stock up on Yellow Fin tuna, Mahi Mahi, and shrimp.

The trip to Puerta Vallarta is a necessary stop in order to check out of Mexico. It's an interesting process, La Cruz is in Nayarit State and Puerta Vallarta (PV) is in Jalisco State so I had to check out of La Cruz, check in to PV, then immediately start the process of checking out of the country. I employed the services of Juan, The Paperman as my agent to handle the paperwork and coordinate with Customs and Immigration. Once the Port Captain, Capitano de Puerto approved my exit, Juan, his son, a customs agent, and a very nice Immigration officer came to the boat, to finalize the paperwork and do a cursory inspection of the boat. By 12:30 I was officially checked out of Mexico.
