I've been remis about keeping up with this, so here's a quick recap of the last few days. Completely clouded over and rain, winds fluctuate between no wind and winds in the high teens. Sea state had been confused, I suppose because of the weather. Although hurricane Glossier is no where near she is effecting the winds here.

It's been difficult to get my bearings, I haven't seen the sun in a while and obviously, there's no landmarks in the middle of the ocean.

It appears that the Hydrovane has slipped and is out of alignment, so that's on today's list. The jib sheet twists over time and ha gotten so bad that is difficult to almost impossible to properly sheet the jib. As of now I have the jib furled and plan to pull the sheet forward, remove the twist and run it back to the cockpit.

As I mentioned, it's been difficult to get my bearings, this has been exacerbated by the discrepancy between my compass and the electronic heading and course over ground (COG).

Hopefully I'll be able to report back later that I corrected these latest issues.

A bit of good news, I'm at approximately 7 degrees north latitude and seem to be out of the ITCZ for the most part, and there's more breaks in the clouds which is a good thing since I haven't been getting sufficient solar to charge the batteries. With th the storms in the southern ocean and hurricane Flossie winds here are very atypical, as such my course to Hiva Oa hasn't been as straightforward as I would hope, but I'm optimistic that will keep getting better as I progress towards the Marquesas.
