I made the short hop from Hot Springs Cove to Bottleneck Cove. It started out broad reaching up Sidney Inlet in a nice 12 to 15 Kt breeze. I had both the jib and genoa unfurled doing a mellow 6.5 to 6.8 kts until a bit west of where Shelter Inlet and Sidney Inlet come together, the wind decided to clock around to my beam and increase to about 22kts. Needless to say I had way too much sail up and consequently got knocked on my ear, rounded up and nearly broached. fortunately I had enough room to head up and get my flailing genoa furled. with only a couple of miles left until the Bottleneck Cove Entrance I finished sailing with the jib only.

Arriving in Bottleneck Cove was easy but it's not the kind of entrance 'd like to do in the dark. There are twoo sets of rocks on port and starboard and the space between them is about 50 to 60 feet at each pair with submerged rocks and shoals that are easy to see but make the channel only about 40 feet wide. Plenty to get a sailboat through.

Bottleneck Cove opens to a large really well protected bay where I anchored in about 30 feet with a mud bottom for a lovely and peaceful evening.
