The day started out a bit foggy but cleared well before late morning. I made a trip to the Co-op grocery store and picked up a few more needs and wants.

By early afternoon the wind was light and it was time to leave Ucluelet for a more secluded anchorage which I found in the Stopper Islands. about 10 1/2 miles from Ucluelet. After leaving the channel where Ucluelet lies and headed somewhat east the wind in the sound was out of the northwest and I was able to sail down wind with my genoa and main for about 5 miles until the wind died and I was forced to motor, fortunately I was only about a mile form the anchorage. the location I chose was in a channel between two islands and had a beautiful view towards the open ocean.

My first attempt at anchoring in the gravel bottom was less than successful so I raised anchor and tried again, this time the anchor set and held well and I settled in for another peaceful evening whole Fairtide gently rocked in the wind and minimal swell.
