It's a beautiful morning. Sun shining through the the high clouds.
The seas have eased a little, although there's still some big waves to remind me of where I am.
I'm roughly a hundred miles from Hiva Oa, a day's sail. The wind that has been blowing a constant 20+ knots is a little lighter today. Odd thing to say but slightly less wind is a good thing, it gets me to Hiva Oa in the late morning to afternoon. I'll have time to find a suitable place to anchor, to relax and celebrate.
Assuming I keep putting miles under the keel it will be 28 days for this journey.
I think of Bernard Moitessier , who would have won the first single handed round the world race, but instead of pulling into port, he turned back to sea and kept going.
