This evening was a momentous occasion and one worth celebrating. At 10:14 pm Fairtide and I crossed the equator. The day was filled with anticipation along with winds in the high teens to low 20s and seas about 3+ meters. Before dark I put in the second reef in the main and rolled up half the jib with the expectation that winds could increase to the mid or even high 20s.

As for the equator crossing celebration, I offered rum to the sea gods to thank them for keeping Fairtide and me safe. I had a bit of some amazing tequila and a fruity rum drink. With the expectation of possible high wind and waves, I decided it would not be in my or Fairtide's best interest to imbibe any .ore than I did. The official celebration will have to wait until I reach port, luckily that's only a few days away. I'll have two major accomplishments to celebrate 🎉🥂🎉
