It was super foggy this morning where visibility was less than a hundred feet at times. although not a surprise it was the densest fog I have experienced since being in Prince Rupert in northern BC, where I was fogged in for three days in late July of 2018.

As the morning progressed and folks began to stir conversations started up on different boats about a myriad of subjects from future sailing plans to deck and sail layouts to technical issues about autopilots, and solar panel controls and mounting. There were also boat tours that are always interesting to see why and how different boats ate set up for the sailing their owners do.

Finally in the early afternoon the raft-up began to disassemble, with one boat going to Bamfield and others heading off to Effingham. Untied from Boog and pulled out of Joe's Bay to head to my next anchorage in a Bay near Bazett Island in order to dinghy up Lucky Creek at high tide the following day.

I had a brief but fun sail, close reaching across the Sound until I turned and headed downwind toward the northeast corner of the Sound.

Bazett Island Bay is mostly a deep anchorage ranging from 50 to 80 feet deep, but I was able to find a spot where I could drop my anchor in about 40 feet of water.

It may sound redundant but the West side of Vancouver Island is spectacular.
