Left Tofino about 1130 and headed the approximate 13 1/2 NM to Quait Bay off Bedwell Sound with a brief stop at Method Marine to fill up my fuel tank. The folks at Method Marine were very friendly and helpful As I was at the "Gas" pump dock, instead of making me wait until a couple of tugs left they dragged the diesel hose to Fairtide so I could fill up. Method Marine also has a chandlery that is well stocked with just about everything one might need. While getting ready to depart I was introduced to a young tour boat captain who gave me tips about some anchorages with float houses where the residents aren't very friendly about anyone going ashore, a back way to Quait Bay, and a tip about going through Matlset Narrows.

Quait Bay has a narrow somewhat hidden entrance that opens to a large protected bay with anchorages in 20 to 30 feet and room for quite a few boats, although there was one power boat anchored in the middle of the bay limiting good spots for other boats. Fortunately there were only two of us so finding a nice place to drop the hook was easy.

Quait Bay is the sight of the Tofino Wilderness Lodge, that was closed during Covid. Now they ate building a new ginormous floating lodge with various out buildings. Quait Bay has road and water access and I fear, once open the amount of vessel traffic from fishing and water taxis will ruin the tranquility of this beautiful and peaceful anchorage.
