I left Quait Bay for the 21 NNM trek to Waterfall Beach Cove in Tranquil Inlet off Tofino Inlet. Don Douglass named this little cove Two Beaches Cove and Salish Sea Pilot named is Mystery Cove. Don's reasoning is that there two beaches that are accessible at low tide although only on is actually big enough to do more that step off the dinghy with one foot. In Salish Sea Pilot they named is Mystery Cove because they couldn't get accurate depth readings and as such is was a mystery where and how deep they were anchored.

I found a waterfall at the head of the cove on the larger of the two beaches and have given the cove the official name Waterfall Beach Cove.

This is a serene and wonderful cove with room for a couple of boats anchoring in 30 to 35 feet with a mud gravel bottom.

This lovely secluded cove is one of my favorites and one I would return to without hesitation.
