July 6 2023 and it's day two in Tofino. It's a chilly morning with near total fog in the Harbour. I'm having a quiet morning sipping coffee and listening to the fishing and tour boats leaving and getting ready for their day.

Later in the morning I walked up to the Coop grocery store to provision. the store in Tofino is first class and fully stocked with everything I needed with the exception of a cucumber. While we were sailing together Karl on WaterLou made Greek salads a few times that were a treat and I was hoping to be able to recreate on for myself, but alas it may not be. At least I have spinach and feta so I can make spinach and feta cheese omelets and good salads.

I was able to do a load of laundry at the small laundry room at the head of the dock, so I'm pretty well set for the remainder of my trip.

This afternoon Esther and Chris picked me up and we drove out of town to a surfer beach. Surfing is very popular here and after spending some time watching the surfers and waves at the beach I can see why.

On our way back to town we stopped at the Shelter Restaurant and had a wonderful meal of fresh perfectly cooked seared wild Sockeye Salmon served on a bed of shrimp and roasted squash risotto with a wonderful Malbec and lots of great conversation, catching up on the last year and talking about our next planned adventures.

Being able to spend time with Chris and Esther was wonderful and a highlight of the trip, they are special friends and it had been too long since I've seen them. I'm including some photos from the beach that Chris took, thanks Chris!
