After a short motor of 14NM from West Whitepine Cove I arrived in Tofino. After all the seclusion of the various anchorages it was a new experience to be in the middle of a busy Harbour like Tofino with fishing and tour boats going in all imaginable directions along with multiple float planes taking off and landing, and barges moving around. I was fortunate to get the only available transient dock space on A dock at the 4th Street wharf. 4th Street is a set of 5 linear docks designated for permanent moorage of the commercial fishing fleet with a limited number of transient spaces available as in the case of A dock where there's one transient tie up.

I went for a walk around town to stretch my legs and figure out where the grocery store was as well as other places of interest.

Later in the afternoon I met up with my friends Chris and Esther for drinks and dinner. It's been almost a year since they left Seattle to head south to Mexico on their boat the SV Raven and the last time we were together was in Gorge Harbour on Cortez Island in Desolation Sound a year ago in August where we were all anchored in the Harbour enjoying the area.

Anyway I digress, back to Tofino. While at dinner we met Stefan and Bridgette, a couple from Germany who have been traveling across Canada from East to West and had just arrived in Tofino.
